Georgia to Require Mandatory Travel Insurance Starting January 1, 2026

Georgia will introduce a mandatory travel and health insurance requirement for all foreign visitors entering the country starting January 1, 2026, in addition to the existing ID or passport entry procedure.

Under the new regulation, visitors will be required to present a valid insurance policy covering the duration of their stay upon entry.

The measure is said to be implemented to ensure potential healthcare costs are covered and to improve the organization of visitor services.
